New Collection: AI Coding Agents

AI-powered tools that write, review, and fix code autonomously or semi-autonomously. From single-agent pair programmers to multi-agent orchestration systems.

This category has exploded in 2025-2026 with projects spanning different approaches:

  • Single-agent assistants: Aider (43k stars), Open Interpreter (63k stars)
  • Autonomous agents: OpenHands (71k stars), SWE-agent (19k stars), Devika (20k stars)
  • Multi-agent orchestration: Claude Squad (7k stars), Ruflo (30k stars), Batty (14 stars)
  • Planning-first agents: Plandex (15k stars)

Items included (9 projects):

Project Stars Approach
OpenHands 71k AI-driven development platform
Aider 43k Terminal-based AI pair programming
Open Interpreter 63k Natural language interface for computers
SWE-agent 19k Automated GitHub issue fixing
Plandex 15k Planning-first AI coding agent
Claude Squad 7k Multi-agent terminal session manager
Ruflo 30k Agent orchestration platform
Devika 20k Agentic software engineer
Batty 14 tmux-native multi-agent supervisor (Rust)

The collection covers a range of star counts intentionally — from mature projects to emerging tools — to represent the full breadth of the space.

No existing collection covers this category despite "AI coding agents" being one of the most active areas on GitHub right now.
